The Building Regulations and Local Authority Building Control Departments
provide a statutory function contained in the Building Act 1984
and covers all building work.
Building Control ensures that all new building work, whether for
a house, office block or home extension is checked and inspected
to confirm that its design and construction complies with the Building
Regulations and allied legislation.
The aim is to protect the health and safety of everyone working
or living in and around buildings. The regulations are also concerned
with access and facilities for people with disabilities, and for
the conservation of fuel and power.
We prepare detailed plans and specifications which fulfill all
the criteria required by the Building Regulations. These plans are
submitted to the Local Authority for approval and can be given to
Builders to obtain accurate quotes and to be used as the working
drawings.
